ROLLING STONES Some Girls: Live In Texas ’78 (Sealed 2012rUK Special Edition 4-disc [2LP/DVD/CD] set – The RollingrStones 1978 tour of the US in support of that year’s ‘SomerGirls’ album is considered by fans to be one of their very best.rThetour followed immediately on the release of the ‘SomerGirls’ album and by the time the band arrived in Texas inrmid-July the album had hit the No.1 spot on the US charts. Thertour took a ‘back to basics’ approach, with the band and theirrmusicvery much at the forefront and little or no elaboraterstaging. Filmed at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in FortrWorth, Texas, on 18 July 1978, this concert is typical of thertour with the Stones delivering a raw, energetic performancerin front of a crowd who are clearly loving the show. Many ofrthe tracks from ‘Some Girls’ are included in the live set with arsprinkling of classics from earlier albums. Originally shot onr16mm film, the footage has been carefully restored and thersound remixed and remastered by Bob Clearmountain fromrthe original multitrack tapes.
