Coltrane ’58: The Prestige Recordings celebrates the 60th anniversary of jazz pioneer John Coltrane’s 1958 recordings for New York City based independent jazz label Prestige Records, featuring the complete chronological sequence of his sessions as a leader and co-leader from that year. The box set includes 8-LPs on 180-gram audiophile quality vinyl, remastered from the original analog tapes, cut from 192K transfers. The accompanying book includes extensive liner notes by GRAMMY-winning American music historian Ashley Khan, and rare images of the recording studio, plus historical musician photos by renowned jazz photographers Francis Wolff and Esmond Edwards.
